We also passed Right-to-Try legislation, which gives terminally ill patients the chance to find a cure for their disease by improving access to experimental treatments.This legislation provides hope for patients and their families, and I am happy to say it is on the way to President Trump for his signature! We repealed a substantial portion of Dodd-Frank, easing regulations on community banks that provide credit to hard working small businesses and taxpayers. It also gives our troops a well-deserved pay raise! We continued our work to improve the lives of veterans by passing legislation that makes meaningful reforms to the Department of Veterans Affairs and ensures they have access to the quality care they have earned. We kept a promise to our military by passing the National Defense Authorization Act, which provides our military the training, equipment and support they need to be ready for any threat they may face.
It was a busy week in Washington- House Republicans passed major legislation on behalf of our military, veterans, taxpayers and community banks, and terminally ill patients.
