The main access to the site would be from the south via an upgraded existing roundabout and the report said from this roundabout a road would sweep around a “multifunctional open space” which is to be used for recreation, play, and sustainable drainage and would also introduce new habitats.
There would be detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses and flats from one-bedroom to five-bedroom in size with two three-storey-high apartment blocks each having nine one-bedroom units. Of the 200 houses and flats proposed 20 would be classed as affordable housing and the plans include associated engineering, access, and landscaping works. The application for 200 units at Dragon Park in Abercanaid from Davies Homes was approved by the council’s planning, regulatory, and licensing committee.
